1. Who we are
Aentury Limited (Aentury, we, us, or our) provides the Aentury mobile application, business dashboard, public websites, events, ticketing, check-in, messaging, discovery, campaign, and related services (together, the Services). This policy explains how we process personal data when you use those Services.
For the processing described here, Aentury is generally the data controller. A business may also be an independent controller for information it collects through its place, event, campaign, or customer operations.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created through your use of Aentury, and limited information from service providers that help us operate the platform.
- Account and profile details, including your name, username, email address, phone number, profile photo, biography, birthday, country, and preferences.
- Content and communications, including posts, comments, replies, likes, messages, shared content, reports, support requests, and the people or businesses you interact with.
- Place and visit information, including check-ins, QR scans, approximate or precise location when you grant permission, visit time, event entry, and redemption activity.
- Business information, including business identity, team access, campaigns, coupons, partnerships, events, tickets, and performance records.
- Transaction information such as ticket or subscription status, amount, currency, reference, refund status, and payout records. Full payment-card details are handled by our payment providers and are not stored by Aentury.
- Device and usage information, including device type, app version, identifiers, IP address, crash logs, notification tokens, pages viewed, feature interactions, and security events.
3. How we use information
We use personal data to provide and improve Aentury, personalise discovery, verify visits and event entry, deliver messages and notifications, operate promotions and coupons, process transactions, provide analytics, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our rules, respond to support, and comply with legal obligations.
Where interests or recommendations are shown, they may be inferred from categories, places, posts, searches, watch activity, check-ins, and other engagement. You can remove interests or adjust available personalisation settings.
4. Location and check-ins
Aentury uses location only when needed for a feature you choose, such as Spot Check-in, nearby place discovery, event entry, or visit verification. Depending on your device settings and the feature, location may be precise.
A successful check-in may create a visit record visible to the relevant business and may affect your place history, highlights, recommendations, loyalty status, or eligibility for a campaign. You can deny location permission, but location-dependent features may not work.
5. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Services, fulfil your choices, maintain safety, or comply with law.
- With other users when you publish content, use a public profile, share a place, participate in an event, or send a message.
- With businesses you check in to, claim or redeem an offer from, request a partnership with, or purchase an event ticket from. The business receives only information reasonably required for that interaction and its analytics.
- With vendors that provide hosting, databases, analytics, crash reporting, media delivery, maps, notifications, communications, identity, customer support, and payment processing.
- With authorities or other parties where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or enforce agreements.
- As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Payments
Payments may be processed by Paystack or another payment provider shown at checkout. Payment providers process payment credentials under their own privacy terms. Aentury receives transaction references and status information needed to confirm purchases, issue tickets, calculate fees, handle refunds, and support businesses.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, safety, dispute resolution, financial records, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Retention periods vary by data type.
When you delete content or request account deletion, we remove or de-identify it within a reasonable period, unless retention is required by law or necessary for security, payment, reporting, or legal claims. Copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups. Messages or shared content may remain visible to recipients.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update profile information, control permissions and notifications, manage interests and privacy settings, and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection where applicable. Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) includes rights of access, correction, and objection.
To make a privacy request, contact us through Aentury Support. We may verify your identity before completing a request. You may also contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission where you believe your rights have been infringed.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted connections, permission policies, audit trails, and monitoring. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should protect your account credentials and tell us promptly about suspected misuse.
10. Age requirements
Aentury is not intended for anyone under 16. We may remove an account if we reasonably believe it was created contrary to this requirement or applicable law.
11. International processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use contractual, organisational, or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Aentury changes. We will post the updated version and change the effective date, and we will provide additional notice where required for material changes.
Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through Aentury Support. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or highly sensitive documents in a support message.
